70's Chic

Asos Wowzer Batwing Dress

Zara Crochet Dress

When it comes to 70's inspired dresses the first thing that pops in my mind is flowy fabrics and soft silhouettes. Dresses with flowy sleeves, or long hems are perfect examples.

Textile Elizabeth and James Jimi Flare Jeans

Flared denim and wide legged trousers are the way to go. Want to go a little further? Try a higher waisted version. If you really want to go retro try a printed trouser like Hanneli.

Zara Flower Blouse

Zara Embroidered Top

Blouses in a solid colour or floral print work well tucked in to pants. If you are not into tucking opt for a pretty embroidered top or crochet cami. If you are adventurous try a cropped crochet top (works best with higher waisted bottoms).

Jeffrey Campbell Snick Wedges

Just like last spring/summer, the chunky shoe is back. Whether its a platform wedge or a platform shoe, these shoes will give you just enough 70's appeal (and the extra height doesn't hurt as well). I own the snicks and love them to death.

Lace

Ashley Olsen in Lover dress

Lover Muse Lace Dress

Lover Lace-Trimmed silk shorts

Lace is such a feminine and timeless type of fabric. There is such a wide variety of options when it comes to lace. From Dresses to skirts, tap shorts to blouses, this pretty sheer fabric can be worn any way. The brand Lover offers some of my favourite lace pieces.
Aurelie Bidermann 18-karat gold-dipped lace cuff

When it comes to jewelry, Aurelie Bidermann makes some striking pieces, all made of lace. They are a bit pricey, so i'm definitely going to try a DIY with some lace and gold paint.

Rosamosario Classica Belleza silk-crepe and lace chemise

I really like the idea of mixing a chemise or vintage slip with other pieces such as a leather jacket, or soft cardigan. Lingerie doesn't have to be just for at home.

Free People Directions in Lace Maxi Slip

The Maxi skirt has been one of the trends from last season that is carrying on to this season. A sheer lace version is sexy, yet has just enough coverage.

Florals

Welcome to Bijou Bijou!

My Name is Toni-Marie and I am a girl who has a bit of an obsession with fashion, music, art and food. I decided to create a blog to share all of these wonderful things with you!

I thought I could start off my posts by showcasing some exciting spring trends, starting with my personal favourite, florals!

ASOS Spring Print Tea Dress

ASOS has the cutest dresses! I love the pale yellow and small floral print of this dress.

Topshop Snow Floral Skirt

Oh how i wish Topshop was in Canada! This skirt is so pretty and flowy.

Nasty Gal Sakura Wrap Dress
One of my favourites! This dress combines a floral print with a kimono style (asian inspired pieces are also big for this season).
Jeffrey Campbell Mariel

Oh Jeffrey you have done it again! I think all fashion girls have an obsession with Jefferey Campbell footwear. We saw the Mariel style in black last season and now he has come up with the perfect floral print Mariel for this season. Love!
